Originally Emerson proposed 75 deluxe and 500 ordinary sets, realized 25/250. in some of the ordinary edition copies „Mending the Wherry“ has been substituted for „A way across the marches“. - As many of the plates began to show signs of wear, Emersondecided in 1889 to complete the advertised number by continuing the publication in potfolio form, using ten of the best plates.
