Im Buch veröffentlicht ist eine Übersicht von 30 britischen Wohnräumen mit den kommentierenden Zitaten der Besitzer. Das Buch kam parallel zur TV-Serie auf den markt. Zwei Jahre später veröffentlichte Cornerhouse eine zweite Auflage, diesmal mit einem Schutzumschlag. (vgl. Holzherr 2010, S. 119).
