Abstract of M.A. thesis on Blanquart-Evrard, Lille based inventor of a negative printing process which allowed him, in the early 1850ies, to produce images in larger numbers than possible before, e.g. for photographically illustrated books like Maxime DuCamp’s “Egypte, Nubie, Palestine & Syrie” (1852).
