The 56 total folded panels are attached to two photographically illustrated paper-covered boards, and housed in a white cardboard slipcase with black printed title. 25 of the 56 panels are printed text, an old Japanese story "Yashima" (in English and Japanese), printed in letterpress. 16 panels contain a total 5 b/w plates, beautifully printed on fine heavy stock matt art paper by Dai Nippon Printing Company, Ltd., Tokyo. The images include recent panoramic photographs of a pine tree garden in Tokyo ('Pine Tree Landscape, 2001'), one day seascape ('Yashima, 2001') and two photographs of burning candles (from the series 'In Praise of Shadows, 1999)'. The printed covers are full-bleed details of the pine tree images.
